Often, the power screws used in North America are functional with an electric actuator but are less effective when operated manually. In fact, the power screw system does not effectively transmit power as it works mainly on friction. It greatly reduces the force required but doesn't give much speed.

We distribute the rack and pinion lifting device from the French company Feugier Environnement. This system, which works with spur gears as main reducers, is much more effective. Thanks to this lifting device, operating a gate is much quicker and requires the same force. This makes it a great system for manual operation, such as for small lake or pond gates, or for de-watering gates in water treatment facilities.
